How To Join Us!
THE NEXT STEP
If you wish to take advantage of what Woodside has to offer either for yourself of for someone you care for, please call or email us to discuss your needs and to arrange to meet.
During this time we can discuss your personal requirements and the level of support that would be required.
At present Woodside is working closely with Combat Stress and offers a support centre to veterans and their family and associates. We have an open meeting every first Wednesday of the month from 1.30pm to about 3.30pm – all are welcome. This meeting is free to all.
Many of the services that can be offered by Combat Stress or provided by Woodside are free and or we can assist with finding funding.
COSTS
Please note that Woodside is a not-for- profit social enterprise and currently receives no Government funding for the services it provides and therefore relies on referrals from agencies such as social services, health care trusts, community mental health teams, etc to support its activities. We are however about to initiatie a programme commissioned by a loacl PCT ( check for news updates). Individuals are also encouraged to participate through self-referrals as part of the direct payments scheme, or be referred by family members. Woodside has been pleased to work with the Pupil Referal Unit of Cambridge County Council and we look forward to developing this positive collaboration.
Participants are charged on a daily basis or pro rata according to their support needs and the sessions chosen (basic charges are expected to be in the order of £70-90 per day) . In general we hope that co-farmers will want to commit to an individual goal plan established in the early days and reviewed and augmented regularly. When assessing and creating a plan we consider the individual (physical and psychosocial), in combination with the physical and social environment and where there is a mismatch or deficits we will address this by either adapting the physical and/or social environment and/or adapting/re-grading the task. Our aim is that each individual will reach their goal either by re-learning skills, or by using different techniques which take into account their individual needs.
Volunteers are also very welcome and can contribute in the groups or on their own to help us maintain and enrich the environment and activities on offer.
